What is a Master Project?

Several similar projects can be consolidated into one single file to give a Master Project. The inserted projects are called sub-projects. Thus Master Project provides a mechanism to work on multiple complex projects.

How to create Master Project

1.       Open a blank new project

2.       From the Insert menu choose project

3.       Navigate to the location that has the subproject

4.       Click the project you want to insert

5.       To insert multiple project press the control key and then select

6.       Click in Insert

Enable publishing of Master Project in Project Server

1.       Log onto the Project Server as Administrator

2.       From the Quick Launch bar click on Server Setting

3.       Under Operational Policies click on Additional Server Settings
