How I can set alternate Sat/Sun (2nd,4th) as nonworking days for a year in calendar?

Hi Deepali

In my view it is not possible by a direct command. In Tools > Change working time first create a calendar for the required year with all Saturdays working. Then in 'Exceptions' for that period, you will have to select alternate Staurdays and designate as holidays.

I hope it helps.

HI Deepali

Thankyou for posting your query in merawindows.

It would be nice if you also mention the version of MS Project being used in you query.

In order to set alternate saturday/sunday as non working days in MS Project 2007 please follow these steps:

  1. From the Tools menu choose Change working time
  2. Click on any one of second saturday in the calendar interface
  3. Give it some name in the Exception "Second Saturday"
  4. Click on Details
  5. Mark it as non working
  6. In the recurrence pattern choose Monthly, Second saturday of every month.
  7. Give a relavant end by date
  8. Now all second saturdays will be marked as non working
  9. like wise create exceptions for fourth saturday and sunday

If you are using MS Project 2003 you will have to set each alternate saturday/sunday as non working manually.

Please let me know if it works for you.

Thanks

Manmeet
