Splitting Task

Once a project is executed many unexpected things happen. There are certain events which are beyond anybody’s control e.g. natural calamity like flood.

Let’s take an example where I have a task of duration 5 days. 2 days of work has already happened but on the third say due to floods work stops. However we are sure work will resume after 2 days when the floods recede

In such a case we will use task split

1.       Click on the split icon on the standard toolbar

2.       On the Gantt Chart click on the bar where you would like to insert the split (on the third day)

3.       Drag the remaining portion of the bar to increase or decrease the split duration  (insert a split of 2 days)
