I was trying something in excel and got stuck. Though there are many ways to reach to the solution but to minimise the steps I wanted to know if there is a simpler way out.
The problem I am facing is :
While using COUNTIFS function I wanted to put a criteria wherein the Range values were compared against a set Min & Max values. When I put the Min & Max values in numerals in formula it works. But When I do the same by just giving Cell Reference to the Min & Max values it does not except that formula.
Can you please tell me if it does not accept that at all or I am doing some mistake here.
Thanks & Regards

Hi,

I am not very clear about yout question.  Anyways, i tried the following formulas and they gave the correct result:

1. =COUNTIFS(C4:C14,">"&MIN(C4:C14),C4:C14,"<"&MAX(C4:C14))
2. =COUNTIFS(C4:C14,">"&C17,C4:C14,"<"&D17)

C17 and D17 hold the minimum and maximum values [result of min() and max functions]

If this is not the case, please restate your question and give the expected answer.

Thank you.

Hi Ashish,

Thanks a lot for the reply. In fact I was not applying the formula correctly thats why was getting an error. The 2nd formula which you have mentioned is the one I was looking for.

Thanks again
