Excel chart category axis

Hi everybody,

I created a clusterd column chart in excel.In the x-axis ie, the category axis i gave a value..Is there a way for assigning another category value for the chart (either on the same x-axis or on top side of the chart ie,parallel to the x-axis).Please help me to get a solution.

Hi akv006,

Hope this might help you.

1. Right click your chart area and select "Chart Type..."
2. Select "Custom Types" tab
3. Under "Chart Type" list box, select "Line-Column on 2 Axes"
4. Click OK
5. On your chart area, select the series represented by Line, right click and select "Chart Type..." again
6. Under "Standard Types" tab, select "Clustered Column" sub category and click OK
7. Now, you get 2 categories represented as "Clustered Column" on the same graph using secondary axis
8. Right click on your chart area, select "Chart Options..." and "Axes" tab
9. And you can play with your display of both primary, secondary X Axes as well as 2-sided Y-axes.

Please let me know if your requirement is something other than this.

Thanks for your response.Before trying your solution i had got solution..BUt i tested your solution too and it works..Thank you very much for the response.
