need excel help pls ... 
hey, i got this query on Excel in my winvistaclub's mailbox...and i dont know much about Excel :

can any1 here pls answer this query and help the person ? i am quoting her mail :

"Congrats on the new website , read news on TOI I have a query I wonder if u will answer it?

I am not able to open Excel files in the Vista spread sheet -the following message appears select the worksheet u want to importwhen i select Total it saysThere was a serious error loading the data. your document appears to be damaged. Works will stop loading the document with what has been read so far please try loading a recent backup copy of this documentOnly a part of the file then opens.

Could u please provide a solution. Thanks."

I am not able to understand the query.What is Vista Spread sheet? Does it mean , she is using MS Works as at one place it mentions the word 'Works' ? And wants to open Excel 2007 files in MS works? If so then have to install Office Compatibility Pack first.

Please check this KB Article. "How to open Word 2007 files or Excel 2007 files in Microsoft Works"

Or the File to be opened is corrupt and is not able to open fully. Then one has to get the correct , undamaged file to open.

Its just what I could guess and what I understood from your query .

@anand

can he/she please explains which Office version file they are using and are they importing Excel file into MS works or try to open a damaged or corrupted excel file.
