Excel and XIRR

I am currently facing a slight problem with Excel and was wondering if anyone has encountered a similar situation.

I have a set of cash flows (inflows & outflows) that are being generated at a certain time frame. I am trying to create a formula that will automatically calculate the amount of cashflow (inflows) needed to reach a 5% XIRR, and have the remaining cash flows (after the 5% XIRR) automatically calculate into a separate line.

 Thank You

Re: Excel and XIRR

Hi rlopez,

Can you please re-phrase your query with some details, say, with some random figures and the expected result? I think that would help in determining the proper formula.
