Excel chart formatting

Hi
I have created a chart with "coloumn" chart type..The value on X-axis is date and that on y-axis is number of documents...
I have a chart for the documents posted for the last 6 months..I need to present the graph in such a way that in a particular coloumn say for the date
01-01-08. i have 40 documents...for that coloumn i want the coloumn to be divided into 3 sections..like documents recieved before 6 months, documents recieved before 3 months
Is this possible to reflect these through the graph?please help me..
