This isn't exactly an easter egg, because it's actually documented in Microsoft's knowledge base, but it's one of those features that you just weren't expecting so it still qualifies.

This should work in any version of Microsoft Word… Just open up a new document, and then type in =rand() into the document:

image

And then hit enter…  voila! Three paragraphs of text will be instantly added…

You can add more than 3 paragraphs or more than 5 sentences per paragraph by using the following syntax

   =rand(paragraphs,sentences)

For instance, for 6 paragraphs of 2image0 sentences each, you would use:

   =rand(6,20)

Update

You can also use =lorem() instead of rand(), with the same syntax if you wanted to insert the Lorem Ipsum text instead of completely random text.

Note: I have tried yhis wid Office 2007 and Office 2003, and it works perfectly.

Check these my friend scrapped me-

MAGIC #1

Nobody can create a FOLDER anywhere on the computer which can be named
as "CON".
This is something pretty cool...and unbelievable. ..
At Microsoft the whole Team, couldn't answer why this happened!
TRY IT NOW, IT WILL NOT CREATE "CON" FOLDER

MAGIC #2

This is something pretty cool and neat...and unbelievable. ..
At Microsoft the whole Team, including Bill Gates, couldn't answer why
this happened!
Try it out yourself...
Open Microsoft Word and type
=rand (200, 99)
and then press ENTER

MAGIC #3

For those of you using Windows, do the following:
1. Open an empty notepad file
2. Type "Bush hid the facts" (without the quotes)
3. Save it as whatever you want.
4. Close it, and re-open it.
is it just a really weird bug?

You can try the same thing above with another sentence "this app can
break"

#1 : The “CON” word is an old MS-DOS reserved word , that why you can’t create folders with such name. “CON” mean consol.
Her is the list of reserved words: CON, PRN, AUX, CLOCK$, NUL, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, COM8, COM9, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, LPT4, LPT5, LPT6, LPT7, LPT8, and LPT9. But still it CAN be created using simple DOS Commands !

#2 : It’s not a bug , it’s a built in function for developers to insert random text without type in the whole thing on the keyboard. More information can be found on http://word.mvps.org/FAQS/Formatting/DummyText.htm

#3 : It happens because when you save a file in Notepad, it gets saved in 8-Bit ASCII format. But the next time you open it, Notepad thinks it is saved in UTF-16 Unicode Format. So it displays some garbage characters.

It happens even for hhhh hhh hhh hhhhh

So there you go, theres no Magic in it lol These are really very old now. I'd heard of them more than 4 years back !

To watch Star Wars in DOS do the following :

  • Start Telnet (Start > Run > "telnet")
  • When Telnet starts, type "o" (without quotes) and press ENTER
  • Type in "towel.blinkenlights.nl" and press ENTER
  • Wait a few seconds for the credits to pass, and then enjoy!

First one was something to do with printer settings.

It was documented longtime ago but never removed in XP!

Lol exactly ! Atleast writing a line below telling this ain't true would've been fine, else people really feel this is true and simply spread the hoax even more
