Their is no academic Edition it's just the name given to the Microsoft Products,which are given to the students of the qualified university at discounted rates like U may find academic editions for Windows Vista,MS Office and Zune.Like if U wanna buy MS Office Pro and is studying in a university U can go for an academic edition which would be available at cheaper rates.
