vista explorer cant burn discs 
Ok this is getting over my head. I hope someone can help me here.
I cant burn anything in vista explorer . The "send to" option doesnt do anything , i can format the disc from explorer in UDF format but again drag and drop doesnt do anything.
I tried roxio and it burns fine , so the burner is fine.
Also windows media player also cant burn discs .

I also tried copying files through cmd , that works. I m not able to get this.
I have home premium with SP1 installed.

Maybe Roxio might be interfering with the Windows services which are used for burning,just try to uninstall roxio and then try to burn

@ ankur - the problem was there even before roxio was installed.

@ VG - I m not able to get you in this. :( Not even the photogallery and wmp burn. Only cmd does.

Rodrigo can U just take a look in the Device Manager and tell what is the location of disk drive,I doubt it may be in Storage Controllers(because Vista oftenly places the secondary drive in Storage Controller),if yes then do reply

U can Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.‌ Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
