I do have NIS 2008 and it doesnt have any such problem it works good for me no probs about the speed and I love it's interface too

I too left it after using NIS 2006,I thought it to be very bad U know the worst thing, but this year I just wrote something about it on my blog just about it's release and the norton guys gave me the NIS 2008 key for testing so I started using it and found good.
