manan - thank u for the reply but the first option is certainly out of question.
The 2nd option also doesnt solve this. I dont think it has any option which helps here.

Any other ideas ?

Did you try the software that was given, I am assuming that you are the admin/main user of the computer? In that case you might wanna try the Supress Prompt option.

Re: UAC blocking program startup - need assistance

Click on the Blocked Startup Programs icon and from Run blocked programs choose System Configuration Utility.

You will be prompted to approve the elevation of privileges (if UAC is active) and then you’ll see the friendly warning dialog that is causing all the trouble. Check the box and click OK to tell the System Configuration Utility not to try and show the dialog again.

Thats It !!!

i think we are slightly on different tracks. I ll explain a bit.
The system configuration utility mostly comes into startup when changes have beeen made through msconfig. That is not the case here. The problem is that if you run coretemp normally , it requires uac elevaion prompt. Now putting this application also esults in a uac prompt at startup that stays in system tray as blocked item. I was referring to this prompt if its possible to overcome this while keeping UAC ON.
In short , running a particular program without UAC while keeping UAC ON as whole.

I m sorry i wasnt clear in the beginning,i hope this clears it a bit.
So ab kuch ho sakta hain kya ??

Modified By Manan on 6/13/2008 8:13:01 PM)

Well now that that didn't work, I searched a little, here is what I came up with:

http://msmvps.com/blogs/martinzugec/archive/2008/05/16/ignore-uac-for-specific-programs.aspx

But there are few programs that I run pretty often and UAC can be quite problematic - for example Regedit or MMC. I always run at least 2 programs with highest priorities (Total Commander and CMD session), usually under different account (with higher priorities).

Problem with UAC is that there is no exclusion list... So yesterday I decided it is time to find some workaround.

Result is first version of Elevator - program that will add new Elevate me entry to context menu.

Using this you can bypass UAC without disabling it.

Download

Go to the page download the softare and try it. I have a gut feeling that this might work.
