I have Windows 7 installed in my PC. The Windows Updates is ON (by default). I don't want to OFF it. My Windows Updates regularly on its own. When I shut down Windows after any update, it asks me "not to switch off the PC until windows updates are installed". Is it possible to have these updates installed in my PC after they are being updated, means they are updated and installed simultaneously?
Also, when I again switch ON my PC, the computer configures Windows. It is very time consuming (sometime it takes about 15 min to configure). Generally, after taking such a long time to configure, it displays "CONFIGURE FAILURE". Why is that so?

What should be done to have my PC work properly i.e. get Windows Updated regularly and avoid or decrease the chances of "CONFIGURE FAILURE"?

(NOTE: I use F8 key to avoid configuration. Is it okay?)

If there is any stepwise process, then please write the steps in detail.

Some updates to system files can only be done when they are not in use. That’s when you are turning off or on your Windows. You can’t update them while your System is on. So let the system updates as it’s recommended. Else you may end up corrupting any file one day.

Okay, as you say Umang that I must not do anything to Windows Update as it will lead to corrupt my PC.

But, what about "Configuration Faliure"? Why the message after 15 minutes of configure, shows me "CONFIGURE FALIURE"? Does it not mean that the updates that are updated are not configured as they must be?

And why the configuration is such time consuming? Is it with my PC only or it happens with other PCs too?
