Windows XP Starter Edition.

Windows XP Starter Edition was first released in Thailand in 2004 and has been subsequently released in 139 countries and in 24 languages. Windows XP Starter Edition is suited for PCs with less memory and processing power (for example, PCs with 128 or 256 MB of RAM).

With the global release of the Windows Vista operating system, Microsoft is introducing Windows Vista Starter, an update to Windows XP Starter Edition. I agree with u buddy that they should decrease the prices in developing countries. But Starter Editions might come useful for those ppl who can't afford other normal editions, like in schools, homes, etc.
