i m unable 2 install.....wmp11 beta 2.

when ever i try 2 install it..over beta 1..it says sm files is missing.

However i have downloaded the setup twice from microsoft site.

 

One thing i wanna ask..is it true that beta 2 is only for Us residents.

regarding the uninstalltion .. have not used yet .. coz iz for xp .. so cant tel u xcatly waz d probelm, but wl yea let u soon :)

newaz regarding ur query ... iz for us residents refers to the use of ONLINE STORES esp. URGE in the media player.

d content actually provided iz for more n less for US residents only but as far as usage in concern,  any one is free to test.

Windows Media Player 11 beta2 Includes a Powerful Genuine tracking system. If U'r system is Pirated, U can't install....

Try to remove the media player 10 or Restore the system and delete the Registry entries by manual(if u r advanced) or by using third party s/w like tune-up utilities 2006( www.Tune-Up.Com) . Then Re-install Player 11 beta2 and choose Custom installation

You should have a genuine Windows Xp to install it.

First try to remove any partially installed files. You may do it manually and also check from registry. After that try the following method -

Download the installation file to hard drive >> Open Command Prompt (Start - Run - cmd) >> go to location where you saved the installtion.

Suppose you saved it in C:\New Folder. [cd c:\new folder] >> [wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe /q] >> Wait for few minutes. It won't show any display of installation progress >> Restart the PC and after a few minutes you should see changed music icons.

I performed it successfully without Internet connection in a pc. Wish you all the luck !!

after that rename the file as anything u want but remember that the extension of the file should be ".reg"....now whenever u want to install or download Genuine Microsoft software u need to double click this registry file before browsing,installing,downloading Microsoft software.If u have any more queries my email id is shivanand2989@gmail.com

also u have to copy paste the registry file onto ur desktop and u have to run the file before u do anything on windows............

Check is you have Genuine windows
if yes and problem persists
Then right click on the setup file and choose-Extract files
then a new folder is created and contains all files with setup file you can easily install WMP11.
