Why is Internet Explorer slower than Firefox?? 

I have been using both IE7 and Firefox for quite some time now. But I find the IE7 to be much slower than Firefox, be it surfing speeds or it's startup time. Why is that? Firefox using many extensions too is I guess faster than IE7. But anywayz I prefer IE7 over Firefox anyday

firefox is faster on broadband connections but for dial up connections is too slow. pages infact doesnt open only in firefox... esp if u r using GPRS..

ie hastendency to show pafes on both broadband and dial up connections as ususal.

I hv noticed one thing in IE7. It starts showing the page when its fully loaded but firefox starts showing the page as soon as it starts loading. Thats why IE seems slow in page loading.

Also sometimes IE progressbar shows like page has been fully loaded but its not and after a few seconds its again starts showing the progressbar in Statusbar.

but even ie7-the software feels heavier than firefox. u knw like wmp is heavier than vlc media player!

for me still Safari is the fastest,the present version is stabler and also they have added many new features in it!!!
