Back after a long time due to exams(I had continued to blogged even during the exams)>Its nice to see back everything. The same Hawa.I just had the HAWA of Neowin for 2 days with 2 top[ics and found it to be very polluted.I posted a article along with a link to my site and there were many criticizations.I hope that I may continue with only Indian forums as they are nice, understanding and great. So coming to the topic:-
Do you use a office or public computer?Have got some really good URL that benefits you a lot?But want to keep it away from the prying eyes of your fellow mates? This trick will help you to do the very same ,even if you are accessing the page infront of their eyes ,by making use of “about” pages in Internet Explorer. This trick also helps you to easily navigate to a page if you dont want to make use of favourite and bookmarks.
SO lets begin.Follow these easy steps to continue :-
a
Click on the start button of your Windows XP or Vista -> go to run and type in regedit and press enter.
b
Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\AboutURLs
c
Create a new string value by right clicking ->”New”-> “String Value” and name it of your choice for e.g Technoworld.
d
Now edit the string value just created by selecting the string -> right clicking it -> “Modify” .In the “Value Data” field enter the URL of the page you want to use and save it.
Screenshot :- Click for the complete Registry editor view
e
Now Open Internet Explorer and In the address bar type in about : name of the string value and press enter. For e.g :-
About:Technoworld
Screenshot :-
Thats it .You are done now.You will notice that the URL of the site wont appear on the address bar , instead you will see the “About:Technoworld” still there. So better privacy and fast navigation.
Feel free to ask any doubts or queries (I dont thing that anyone here will need it.) :-)
Enjoy
