One of the top news of these days...... Internet Explorer is below 50% after about 7 years ( from its 88% share in 2003). And on the other hand Google Chrome is rising and Firefox still at the same pace.
one thing  is that it has happened just after the release of IE 9 beta. and more over Google is going to launch its another chrome version nearly.
Now may be IE team should have a second thought over this...

One thing is sure that Browser technology is going to be Cut throat compt in near future......

I am sure with IE9 Microsoft can gain some of its lost market share...

With the increase in number of Browsers, and seeing the level of competition, I dont think regaining the 50% market share will be that easy for IE9... It may have had a share of around 88% in early 2000s but after launch of  browsers like Firefox and Chrome, the decrease in that share is visible to all.
And with these developments arround every corner, rulling over half of the market is not possible now for any browser. The things currently that has helped  IE maintaining the topspot is its setttled status and excellence in hardware accelleration.

Right said UG....but in case of Hardware acceleration IE is much ahead as compare to the others....Firefox is the only other browser that uses hardware acceleration....so its way ahead....
and one of the main reason of that is due to the Major version release....Firefox and Chrome etc. releases their minor or major version at regular interval but IE comes after a long time....we can observe that from IE8 and IE9. But still i think MS delivers secure and high performance browsing...no doubt...:)

I would like to correct somthing... The stats unveiled with the advent of IE9 beta, so IE9 will be affecting this stats for next Q.
IE9 is only the browser, that implements hardware-acceleration first to render web content. IE9 beta got 6 Million Downloads in September 2010 only.
In short "PICTURE ABHI BAAKI HAI MERE DOST."

With the amount of beta releases, I think this is turning out to be a Beta war than the Browser war.
One stable version is launched, and the next beta sits waiting. There seems to be more betas in market than charlies...

Great news for all IE fans.... It has again regained half the shares of the Web browsing market.... Atleast according to the Netmarketshare.com for the month of October.
Here's what the market share looks like

Note: According to this site, IE's usage share never went below 59%

Surely IE 9 will be liked by its users with so many cool features and being fast.
One of the coolest feature I like is 'Add-on Performanc advisor' Really useful. All other browsers have to add this feature if they have to compete with IE9.

Frequent Chrome users complain that it crashes very often. Sometimes it is just unable to load graphically intense sites like www.microsoftstudentpartners.com. IE9 does this job very well . . Kudos :)

Agreed and here is the proof: Internet Explorer 9 has been downloaded now 2.35 million times in the first 24 hours since its Monday night release.

IE9 aces the SunSpider JavaScript Test 0.9.1 version leaving behind Chrome 10 and Firefox 4 RC. It comes second at the V8 benchmark Test. This underlines its superiority among the present browsers. This is surely a 'Beautiful Web' !!
