again OneCare fails to quaratine/delete a Virus !
Modified By Srinath Sadda on 8/6/2007 11:17:06 AM)

As a OneCare 2.0 BETA tester, i tested a PUP with different antivirus scanners. Actually the scanned file is a Virus!

scanners used: Kaspersky, F-Secure, bitdefender, Norton and McAfee

scanning parameters: deepgaurd technology is enabled and rootkit eliminater is running...

OneCare identifies that PUP as a Trojan namely " Trojan.Win32/Anomaly.gen/A "

Other antivirus scanners identified as a Virus! OneCare Quaratined that file successfully, but the actual traces of virus like behaviour is not eliminated.

Whenever i scan that file manually, it displays nothing! - When i run it, it displays the file is Quaratined successfully. - The actual traces of PUP is identified in system volume information file!

I informed this to security team today with scanning results...
