dataone smartax mt882 modem doesn't work with vista 
need solution to these probs: 1. my SmartAX modem does not install on vista but i had installed it on my previous MSI K8M800 chipset mobo....now my new mobo is Asus M2N-VM DH...pls help!! 2. want to upgrade my Microtek 300W SMPS....pls suggets some options....how abt. Asus Atlas 500 W used for servers

Hello, dmudgal, Welcome to merawindows.

I am also using smartax MT882 modem provided by BSNL and its working fine with Vista. I am having dlink NIC. It doesn't require any drivers .

Dont use USB , but connect using ethernet. I does not require any driver.

Regarding SMPS, get a good one according to your needs. If your usage is more, then go for 500 W. Always get a good SMPS. Also check Antec brand SMPS , (they re very good but pricewise , on higher side. ) Some fanless SMPS are also available.

But i think what you have quoted are good and suffice for normal use.

Even i am using SMARTax m882 modem provided by dataone...i have its USB as well as Ethernet Connected.....

 

and its working fine for me....

Raj, can you provide more details of your prob., like are you connecting via USB or ethernet.

Hello Raj. If u r trying to connect ur MT882 modem through ethernet then u can try this:-

1. Go to Device Manager

2. Right-click on ur Network Adapter

3. Click on Advanced tab

4. Try changing the value of Speed & Duplex settings from Auto Negotiation to 10 Mbps Half Duplex.
