I resolved the issue but not with the USB drive that I had (the one i linked to above)

I simply returned it and got another one, and the new one seems to be working just fine.

I used online tech support chat from the Lexar company, and the person tried to convince me that the Firefly I bought was NOT Readyboost compatible, despite the fact that it says WORKS WITH READYBOOST in large letters on the package

LOL!

I wanted to thank you guys for helping me, I learned a lot about Vista from all of this.
