Hi,
I just bought a 2GB thumb drive that is Readyboost ready, so said the packaging. Plugged it in, and went through the Readyboost process... everything is working A OK !
Later on I had just clicked and installer for a game that started to not respond and eventually my system froze up, forcing me to hard reboot. Since that reboot, Windows doesn't recognize the thumbdrive as Readyboost ready. What happens is the autoplay thing show up asking do I want to 'scan and fix' the drive or 'continue without scanning'
clicking 'scan and fix just takes me to a check disk window. Clickin start now will take me to the autoplay window: open folder to view files or speed up my system with Readyboost.
Clicking on Readyboost now takes me to Removable Disk properties, where the pie chart shows that i have 444MB of used space on it, despite the fact that there is nothing on it when i view the folder. I can't get to the readyboost tab anymore.
Windows won't let me reformat it either, saying either there is write protection or that it is unable to format.
Any help is appreciated.
