Re: branded comps
What do you mean by that? Branded desktops/laptops which released by March 2006 are VISTA compatible. If talking about limitation's..Hmm..I dont see any limitation as VISTA ready/capable PC's/Laptops already has powerful inventory to work, in addition you can upgrade existing ram or hard disk or processor. But in most branded PC's/ laptops you get only fewer options to upgrade i.e Ram module and hard disk drive. Mainboard, processor remains the same. You can build your own VISTA PC in less amount. Add some of 512 MB or 1 GB single DIMM DDR II ram, 160 GB Sata hdd etc etc ? And AMD Dual core processor for boost? There arent much articles i saw about which processor , i still wonder if AMD dual core rocks for VISTA ?

Best thing is to check the hardware specifications of the branded machines. Are they satisfying the requirements of Vista? And please note that Computers with the Windows Vista Capable PC logo will meet or exceed the requirements to deliver the core Windows Vista experiences such as innovations in security, reliability, organizing and finding information. They can also deliver key business features found in the Windows Vista Business and Windows Vista Enterprise versions, such as domain join.

However, some premium features may require advanced or additional hardware. If a PC is not Windows Aero capable, for example, the desktop graphics experience in Windows Vista will be comparable to Windows XP with regards to visual features, stability and performance.

ATi Radeon + DDR II Ram of 600/800 FSB
ATi Radeon graphic cards are good. 256 MB PCI Express ( 16x ) graphic card for VISTA is a plus advantage + DDR II 600 or 800 FSB Ram = Ferrari
