An Indian engineer and former Intel employee, Bishwasmohan Pani has been charged as stealing secret information from Intel for its new employer and Intel's rival Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).

Pani, who is also an IIT Bombay alumni, has been charged by the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) of stealing trade secrets after conducting a raid at his house and finding about 13 top-secret files detailing design plans of Intel's processor chips.
 

But Pani insists that the design files were actually meant to help his wife who still works with Intel and not intended for sale.

Meanwhile, his parents in Orissa are crying foul on this whole issue. They are claiming that their son is being unnecessarily dragged into a dispute between two rival companies, reports IBN Live.
Though Pani has not been arrested yet, he has surrendered his passport to the US authorities and the case is being tried at a district court in Boston.
