Microsoft launched its operating system: Windows Server 2008 on February 27, 2008.

Oracle as an industry leader meets market demands by planning to support Microsoft Windows Server 2008.
Oracle Database will be available for the following Windows Server 2008 editions:
- Windows Web Server 2008 (x86 and x64)
- Windows Server 2008 Standard without Hyper-V (x86 and x64)
- Windows Server 2008 Enterprise without Hyper-V (x86 and x64)
- Windows Server 2008 Datacenter without Hyper-V (x86 and x64)
Microsoft will release Hyper-V editions of Windows Server 2008 at a later time. Oracle will evaluate support
for these editions as they become widely available.

Oracle plans to certify the following Oracle Database releases on Microsoft Windows Server 2008:

Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (x86) 2nd Quarter 2008
Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (x64) 2nd Quarter 2008
Planned certification includes single instance Oracle Database server, Oracle Real Application Clusters, and
