Overlay image on taskbar 

I like to use the classic windows theme rather than xp themes; however, I don't like the taskbar very much. Is there a way I can replace the color of the taskbar with an image that won't upset the start button, quicklaunch icons, systemtray and the open/minimized window boxes?

Using image is not possible but you can change taskbar color from "Appearance" tab in Desktop properties. I can't remember but there was a 3rd party software which allowed to use images as taskbar background.
