desktop screen abnormally stretched 

hi all,

my desktop screen is unusually stretched lengthwise, i tried 2 fix it manually wid desktop control buttons, but of no use.

what shud i do?

It maybe because of your desktop resolution,U may try to change it by just going to the following steps here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/setup/personalize/resolution.mspx

Just try to see which resolution fits for your monitor

if u r using window vista ... go to personalize...display settings....monitor and check ur windows resolution....u can arrange it in various displays...the defaultaspect ratio is preserved in most of the resolutions as well...

my monitor is samsung samtron 45bn and i'm using windows xp.

my resolution is unchanged to 1024* 768.

my desktop screen is stretched horizontally & i'm unable 2 fix it with the monitor control button( which is not workng).

i tried to degauss by pressing simultaneously brightness & contrast button, but with no effect.

wid samsung model der is a facility called auto adjust resolution iy will solve ur prblm
