Folder locker 2.0. is a folder locking tool you can use to protect or hide your secret folder. It includes a wide range of special folders for locking your secret folder. For example, it can help you to lock your secret folder into Recycle bin so that no one can see the contents of your secret folder, when someone open your secret folder which is locked by using Folder Locker 2.0.0 then they will see the contents of recycle bin in fact. Apart from Recycle bin it includes 9 more special folder which gives you a wide range for locking your secret folder in Folder Locker 2.0.0.

Here I am showing how to lock folder "c++ softwares" by converting it into "Explorer".

Here we take the example of locking a folder named c++ softwares into Explorer and then unlocking it.

  Lock a folder

   

  To lock a folder follow the given steps

  1. Start Folder Locker 2.0

  2. Go to File menu and click on Lock ( or press ctrl+L).

      

  3.  The "Lock folder" dialog will appear as shown below-

      

  4. It will allow you to select a special folder in which you want to convert your folder "c++ softwares" (as in my example). Unless you will not select a special folder from the list you are not allowed to lock any of your folder in your HDD. When you click on the list you will get the following options for conversion

      

  5. Select any of the special folder from the list (in our case we have selected My Computer)

      

  6. On selecting it will ask you to select drive in which your folder resides

      

  7.   After selecing the drive look for your folder and select it and then press Lock.

      

  8. Now your folder is locked into My Computer Folder.

      

  9. Now when you try to open your "c++ softwares" folder it will resembles like an "Explorer" is opened and your secret data is protected.

      

     Now your folder is protected

  Unlock a folder

   

  To unlock a folder follow the given steps

  1. Start Folder Locker

  2. Go to File menu and click on UnLock ( or press ctrl+u).

      

  3.  The "Unlock folder" dialog will appear as shown below-

      

  4. It will allow you to select the drive where your loked folder is ( "c++ softwares" as in my example). Unless you not select the drive in which your locked folder resides you are not allowed to unlock any of your folder in your HDD.

      

  5.   After selecing the drive look for your folder which you have locked the name of the folder will be changed to something like "c++ softwares.{20d04efe0-3a...." (which is a extension for sopecial folder) when you find the folder click on it and then press Unock.

      

  6. Now your folder is unlocked from Explorer's special folder to normal folder.

      

  7. Now you are able to access your folder ("c++ softwares" )& your secret data is in front of you.

  What are special folders? Explained

  Special folder are the folder in the system which has given special task to perform. Like Control Panel is a special folder which when clicked give you a information about your system. Some of the special folder are-

  • Desktop

  • My Computer

  • Control Panel

  • Startup

  • Fonts

  • Recent etc,etc...

  In Folder Locker 2.0 I have given a lot of special folder for you to protect your important documents. Options available for locking folder in Folder Locker 2.0 are-

  • Recycle bin

  • Control panel

  • My computer

  • Network connection

  How to Optimize security

  To completely protect your folder from others do the following to steps-

  1. When we lock a folder using Folder Locker 2.0 than it's name remain as it as after it is locked. It looks odd that a Control Panel or a Recycle Bin etc have a different name (even a novice hacker will think about that) therefore it is recommended that you change the name of your locked folder to one to which you have converted your folder.

      

     
     

  2. Now no one can think that is someother folder, but there is still one problem when someone open this locked folder, the address bar will show the actual path of the folder (here again a novice can be confused and he will strat hinking for it).

      

     To solve this problem open Explore and got Tools> Folder Options..> View and do the following settings as shown in the figure below-

     • Uncheck the checkbox saying Display full path in the address bar

     • And, Check the checkbox saying Hide extension for known file types.

      

      

      

     What's new in Folder Locker 2.0

     • The locking option in Folder Locker 2.0 is the Unknown File type. It does not lock the file into any Special Folder but infact it lock the folder as unknown file which on accessing ask the user which program to use for opening the folder

     • A Media File is also included in Folder Locker 2.0 which convert the folder into music file, when some one try to access it Media Player will get opened.

Its great if you made it.

i havent download it. but theres another software named 'PC security', you should try it to improve yours.

PC security locks and unlocks files/folders/drives as soon as you click lock/unlock and enter your set password.

it gives an option for lock/unlock in right click menu.

When you try to open locked files/folders/drives:

I must first tell u yes i have made this software using VB6.

Actually the problem with PC SECURITY is well illustrated by you, just look at the access denied dialog box after looking at this dialog box a hacker/cracker mind will get some clue that u have someimp data with u which u daon't wanna share. therefore, he definitely try to crack ur password this is the point where my software come into existence. It actually fools the anonymous user that there is nothing spcl in ur computer.

But, Yeah for optimized use u can use PC SECUITY  to lock your folder and then my soft to hide it.
