sometime back after i installed xp on one of my machines, used automatic updates but as i wanted to restart to apply those updates the machine got overheated and did a shut down..

after that whenever i have tried an auto update or even anu other update it gets cancelled. automatically.

its not that the process can not be seen... the whole process can be seen but the result is 'nothing'...

while shutting down, i get a message that says that there are some important updates those will get installed before the machine shuts down... eveytime i do the shutdown.

can anybody help me with this..

i tried doing as adviced but it still does not work. updates get downloaded but installation fails...

now i also tried to install ie7 but that too is not successful..

pl. suggest a possible solution..

is there something wrong with my machine..

i done see SP2.. but SP3 and SP4!!m !!

so do i delete the KB under it or what!!

 I GUESS.. if the particular KB is not getting installed then it will not be found under then same number..

pl. help.
