Few days back i had problem in PC . While double clicking any icon ..its Properties windows opened . and key board stopped working. means i was unable to type anything. Right click option was working only .Then i reformatted entire OS and today only it was reinstalled . For one hr it worked fine then again same problem.Now tell me what to do and why this is happening . I ve scanned the PC but no virus infection .Yes ...System restore is also not working ..and in control panel while clicking Folder options and fonts error message shows properties of this item are not available.In control panel also only Right click option is working.

hi seema...there a variety of things i would like you to try...
1.) Check if the Online eyboard provided by microsoft is working it or not.you can find it in start>programs>accessories>easeofAccess>onlineKeyboard [for Vista] (for XP..dnt got o easeofAccess)
2.) now you may also try downloading the latest drivers for the keyboard and then du it coz sometimes conflicts can create independencies b/w system files and files get corrupted...that could be a posssible reason of your keyboard failure
3.) try installing OS from different resources...tryto do it from another backup copy or restore disk of your os
4.)or u may try a new optical drive...so that to make sure there is no read problem
5.)If the keyboard doesn't work in BIOS then it has nothing to do with any kind of software or virus.
Do the keyboard LEDs respond to caps lock and/or num lock?
6.)try using a different keyboard
7.)Check the Cables ...if they are tight
NOTE: Anytime something on your computer makes you nervous, you should immediately get a backup copy of the vital files you have, starting with most important first.
Try now and still if you face any problem do ask...i hope the steps above will help you troubleshoot for sure
