How to: Launch programs at startup [New Way]

New Way:

Windows XP also uses the registry to launch programs at startup, and you can too. This tip enables you to specify programs to be launched automatically upon starting Windows:

Open REGEDIT

Navigate to 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run'

Create a REG_SZ value named after your program, with the value being the path to the executable file (for example, 'C:\yourprogram\yourprogram.exe')

Your Done!...

OLD WAY:

First, make sure that you have enabled the 'Show hidden files and folders' option.

Navigate to this path: C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\Start Menu

where, YourName=Your User Name.

Paste shortcuts of the programs you want to run @ startup in this folder.

Your Done!..

Nice work....

You can also lauch your program using these locations in Windows Registry.

Navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

edit the value shell like explorer.exe, <your program>.exe

and

edit the value of Userinit like C:\Windows\system32\userinit.exe, <your program>.exe

it's my Windows
