Warning Popup

Hi, I have a fan that I rigged into my computer so that my computer wouldn't overheat.  The problem is that it has to be pluged in and sometimes my brothers play my computer with out pluging it in.  My question is, Is it possible to have a warning box or something pop up whenever someone logs on telling them to plug the fan in?  I don't like to leave to fan plugged in because its a little noise, and if it doesn't get plugged my computer runs the risk of frying its brains.  Thanks in advance.

I have Windows XP Pro and I have SP3.

Re: Warning Popup

Yep. Its possible. Open regedit and goto:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

If the key is not present, then manually create it. Now select "System" key and in right-side pane, create 2 new DWORD values as following:

legalnoticecaption

legalnoticetext

Set value of legalnoticecaption to whatever you want to show in dialog box title and set value of legalnoticetext to whatever message you want to show in body of dialog box.

Re: Warning Popup

Yep. Set "Legalnoticecaption" to something like "Reminder" or "Warning" and set "Legalnoticetext" to "Please Plug the Fan in...".
