You'll need XP Boot image to create bootable CD. Best method would be using nLite.

can u gimme the link...can i make a bootable cd using  nero make bootable cd option and drag the sp3 folder complete over there so as to make my sp3?

Yep. You can make XP bootable CD using Nero but you'll need the boot image which can be extracted from another bootable CD using CD Image creator software or you can download from net. I don't have any link. The most easiest way would be using nLite which does it automatically.

Now open nero and choose the type as Bootable CD. In the boot settings set these options:

Point the boot image file to the xpboot.bin,

Enable the Expert settings; set Emulation to No emulation; Ensure that Load segment sector is 07c0; Set Number of loaded sectors to 4.

Burn the CD maintaining the original file and oflder structure. I hafn't noticed any problem when the format is set to allow iso9660 + Joliet (long file name supporT). Give any label to the cd and you haf your very own sp3 bootalbe cd. Add things like drivers etc. to the free space :)
