I have followed the tut to create a new login window. i doo all the steps, save the file, but when i put it in windows/system32 i reopen it to check if it has worked, and all the changes i made are not there. ive tried deleting the loginui_original.exe and i must have retried the whole proccesss atleast seven times!!! please help, i really want to mod my xp :) thanks

One of the links Jain posted   http://www.askvg.com/how-to-change-windows-xp-boot-screen-using-tuneup-utilities/    is what I used . This is a really nice prog you can change the logon screen and the logoff screen as well as a whole lotta other stuff. Then as posted in this article  http://www.askvg.com/list-of-files-to-be-hacked-using-resource-hacker/ you just edit shell32.dll and msgina.dll in res hacker to make the text whatever you want . have fun with it :)

First download WFP patcher and run it. Then click on Patch>Yes. Now try again to change your login screen, it should work.

Wait a min before patching system file. If you wanan change or modify logonui.exe only. Just follow the registry change and you won't need to patch anything.

Place your logonui.exe anywhere in your HDD w/ your desired name. Now Open Registry Editor and navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Change a string value's data called UIHost and set full path your custom/modified logonui.exe.
