I made soem time ago this Vista Logo before Logon and created two bmp files one in 1024x768 and the other one in my resolution @ 1440x900 because I needed it or it would like hell in any other resolution :(

Regarding to the Name at top of menu, I just added an extra String in Shell32.dll file. Open "Shell32.dll" file in Resource hacker and goto:

Menu -> 215 -> 1033

Now in right-side pane copy following line:

MENUITEM "!*~.VISHAL.~*!", 33333, MFS_GRAYED, MFS_DEFAULT

just after the following code:

215 MENUEX
LANGUAGE LANG_ENGLISH, SUBLANG_ENGLISH_US
{
POPUP ""
{

Thats it. Now Compile the Script and save the file. You can change the string between quotes "!*~.VISHAL.~*!" to any other string.

Thank you for this guide Vishal but I am afraid some of your tips are not working well!After using them,when I tried to update my PCc,it hung and I ended up reformatting my PC!

I just hope others havent experinced the same!

For me,Formatting is once every fortnight but this was tragic as I lost 4GB of data in this!Mosst of which were photos!

Forgive me if I insulted you but still I do hope you inquire into it!

^^ You are the first person, who faced any problem in using those tricks. Those are completely safe and accurate. You must hv done some mistake or anything went wrong in your system. I don't take any guarantee. So use them at your own risk.

And regaring to your tut, it has been deleted coz it was plagiarism. Did you bask my permission before posting it? NO. Even you didnt give credits to me. So next time don't forget to ask me before posting my tutorials, etc.

Vis, I hate to bother you but is there any way to, on the progress dialog, to change the date and/or time to the size of the transfer? is that possible?

Regarding to your query I'm afraid but its not possible. You can add a label and set its text top data transfer but it'll be static and will not change coz XP doesnt hv this feature.

Nope. It'll be just like a static string. It'll not change. You can set any text like "Data Transfer: 1 MBPs" and it'll remain same all the time.

^^ It may happen bcoz of WFP (Windows File Protection) service which restricts system files to be changed. You can disable this service and then u'll be able to save the file.

Otherwise you can save the file at some other location and then can use "Replacer" to replace system file with ur edited file.
