Dual / Multiboot Vista with other OS
Some tips for Dual booting Vista with XP: Others can also share their tips about the same here:

Many of you must have already tried dualbooting or multibooting Vista with XP or other versions of Vista or other OS, and there are certain points to remember that is what i observed:
Whenever you are in Vista , Vista will always be seen as on  "C:" , even if you have installed it in other drive. For eg: You already had XP installed on C: and had D and E partitions. And now you want to test /install Vista on say E: , So you have  installed  Vista on E:, now the boot control will be Vista bootloader. And at boottime , you'll be provided with option to choose between XP (It'll say earlier versions of window) / Vista:
So if you boot in Vista  , it'll be seen in C: and XP will be shown in other drive D:. So remember  : DO NOT CHANGE VISTA DRIVELETTER C:  when you are in it else you'll mess up with your bootloader and you wont be able to boot into XP.

And again when you boot into XP , it'll again be shown in  C:, if your XP is in C: or if its in other drive , it'll be shown as other Drive. So don't mess with the drive letters.

IT can be with XP or any other version of Vista , say if you have two versions of Vista loaded in different partitions, then the one version which is booted will be seen as C:.

So for Easily recognising of drives , give vol. label /name to various drives BEFORE installing any version of Vista.

Vista can not be installed on FAT32 , it requires NTFS , so if your partitions are FAT32 , you  can  format it into NTFS during the process of Vista installation itself where you'll be provided with a choice of managing various partitions and where to install Vista.

NTFS is the recommended file system for Windows Vista. If one plans to install Windows Vista and another operating system on the same computer, he/she must use a file system that all operating systems installed on the computer can access.

Yes, But one can have different file system on diferent partitions on the same system , & i think you meant only this.
Say you are having XP in one  partition on FAT32 but on another partition Vista has to be installed on NTFS and you have installed Linux on another partition and it'll have a different file system Ext2.
But each OS can access other partition , while FAT32 and NTFS can see each other but in case of Linux , these file systems have to be mounted sometimes as some flavors of Linux do not automount. Similarly Windows will require some tools to have access to Linux Ext2 file system.

btw how many of you have tried triple booting XP,Linux and Vista?
